The Mayor of Kazan on the «BlagoDaru» project: «It provides not only a social adaptation, but also a way towards a full life»

A second apartment for children with intellectual disabilities opens in the Privolzhsky district of Kazan

The second apartment of the Center for Social Adaptation of ANO «BlagoDaru» for people with intellectual disabilities opens on Fuchika Street in Kazan. Three young men are already living there. Each of them has their own room, and they keep a household and work. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, visited to congratulate them on the occasion of their new home.

«It is important to continue development of this project. Gulnara Lenarovna, I would like to thank you and your team for your efforts together with Good Kazan, the Department of Social Protection and Housing Policy, as well as district administration for creating such comfortable conditions. It provides not only a social adaptation, but also a way towards a full life. As part of Good Kazan, we will continue to support this initiative,»- said Ilsur Metshin.

The first apartment of the Center for Social Adaptation, founded by Gulnara Galiakhmetova in 2022, is located in the Sovetsky District, in the village of Karier. The main goal of the project is to help people with intellectual disabilities to live a full and independent life outside of boarding schools. Presently, the center provides support for 11 individuals.
